Classes

Beginners are mixed in with intermediate and advanced students. This makes for a more interesting class and encourages students to try more difficult projects.

Tina has been instructing for over 30 years and has a vast knowledge of both copperfoil and lead techniques. She also does repairs, custom orders and sells finished products as well as all materials for the home hobbyist.

The initial project for beginners is approximately 9x12 with a choice of 4 different patterns. There will be a wide selection of glass and colors students can use for their projects. The fee of $150* covers instructions, glass, foil, solder, flux, framing and the use of all supplies, tools and equipment. The student is taught how to clean and set up a grinder and how to take care of the tools and equipment. The classes run for 6 weeks and run for 2 hours each.

If the student wishes to continue, he/she may sign up for another 6 weeks at which time the student should have their own cutter and two sets of pliers (available in the shop). The student will then pay $15* per class (6 weeks) and pay for materials + taxes as needed to make either a panel lamp, jewelry box, clock, kaleidoscope or planter. Payment must be made prior to starting classes in order to procure your spot!

After the intermediate level, students may continue to purchase a block of 6 weeks, and learn etching, patio stones, lead caming or a Tiffany lamp done on a form. By this time students can work in the shop or do some of the work at home. i.e. pattern making, cutting, foiling etc. Fees for materials are extra. Single classes are $16 + HST space permitting.
